Prerequisites:
No specific prerequisites are required for this program but the following skills are good to have.
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, subnets, routing)
- Understanding of firewall concepts (Stateful inspection, NAT, VPNs)
- CLI Skills (Basic command-line interface- especially Junos OS)
- Basic security knowledge (Firewalls, ACLs, security policies)
- Familiar with Junos OS helpful but not required for beginners
What You Will Learn
1. Firewall Configuration
- Setting up and managing Juniper SRX firewalls.
- Configuring security zones, interfaces, and policies to control traffic.
2. Traffic Filtering
- Implementing stateful and stateless inspection for secure traffic flow.
- Creating and managing security policies, NAT, and VPN rules.
3. VPN Setup
- Configuring site-to-site and remote-access VPNs (IPSec, SSL VPNs).
4. Security Features
- Enabling IPS, antivirus, and threat detection for enhanced security.
- Setting up advanced security features like AppSecure and deep packet inspection.
5. Routing and High Availability
- Configuring dynamic routing (OSPF, BGP) and static routes.
- Setting up high-availability (HA) clusters and redundancy with VRRP.
6. CLI Management
- Mastering Junos OS CLI for configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
7. Logging and Monitoring
- Implementing logging, SNMP, and syslog for traffic and device monitoring.
8. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
- Using Junos OS tools for network troubleshooting, packet capturing, and diagnostics.
